Why subscribe?

Subscribe, at no cost, to get full access to the A Friend's Thoughts Substack site. Never miss a post: every new one goes directly to your inbox. There won’t be a lot.

I write in several media, including THREADS (brief reflections), MEDIUM, and my A Friends Thoughts blog, for none of which is there a subscription cost. I write not for money. The people of Connecticut have provided me with what I regard as a fine pension for my ten years as a judge. I just seek to keep serving. I write to share thoughts about personal and civic responsibility; about humanity’s socio-political anchors such as commitment to truth and the rule of law - and fundamental fairness; about the difference between objective truth and personal perspective; about the importance of increasing honor, and reducing self-righteousness, in personal and civic relations at all levels; and - honoring the late Buckminster Fuller’s metaphor - to be a trim tab for steering people toward greater personal awareness, health and peace - and to fulfillment through contribution to their families’ and communities’ health and success.
